Future plans: Following the Standardized Nomenclature of Coat
Colors in dogs by Prof. Bernard Denis , French Poodle Club is planning to unite Red and Apriocot colors under the color FAWN
(from pale fawn or sand to red fawn) in the next version of FCI Poodle Standard.

around the World joined the Petition for Recognition of Red Color in the FCI Poodle Standard.

the preparation and support of the Petition.

We got the information from the President of Club du Caniche de France
Mr. Jean-Jacques DUPAS that:
- The French Poodle Club finished it's work on the modifications of the Poodle
Breed Standard, and forwarded it's decision to the Standard Commission of the French Kennel Club (SCC).
- In case these modifications are approved by the French Kennel Club, they will be sent
to the FCI Commission of Standards and need to be approved by the FCI General Committee and FCI General Assembly (the
next one in May 2007).
We are very grateful to the French Poodle Club and the French Kennel Club for
all the work done.
We hope that all procedures will be acomplished successfully and promptly.
We are looking forward to the next steps updates and finally to the new Poodle standard reflecting long waited
changes.

The French Kennel Club Commission is rescheduled for February 25, 2006.

We are happy and grateful to receive the date of the French Kennel
Club Commission scheduled for March 4, 2006. We are asked to present
a young, veteran, Standard, Miniature and Dwarf Red Poodles.
Uschi Graf ("Champagne D'Or") and Susanne Baldinger ("Piccadilly Poodle") will
show their dogs in Paris.
We are looking forward to this special meeting !

We got the response
from the President of Club du Caniche de France Mr. Jean-Jacques DUPAS:
- The materials of the Petition were presented on 19.11.05 to
the French Kennel Club Poode Standard Committee
- It was decided that a special commission will work with
Prof. Denis(a specialist for colors) on the Red Color issue and will provide it's decision in May 2006
- We are asked to organize a one day presentation of 1-2 Red dogs to a special commission of the French Kennel Club
in Paris in 2006 for the examination of coat, pigmentation, etc. French Poodle Club will not be able to cover travel expenses
for the above presentation.
We are extremely grateful for these prompt answers, attention and hope. We
are looking forward to the decision of the special commission and are happy to assist in any matter.

We got a response from the FCI Executive Director Mr. Yves De
Clercq that
"This kind of matter has to be
dealt with, first, by the French Kennel Club as the Poodle is a French breed. If the SCC agrees, then they will forward
a request to the FCI to have this measure applied worldwide."
